Soooooooooooo, as someone who has done the maximum computer tampering of replacing RAM and hard drives, I attempted a preliminary expedition into the depths of my laptop, a device trained professionals won't touch for less than 100 dollars an hour.

I didn't get far.

I got all of the external parts out (Hard Drives, RAM, and battery), then removed the optical drive (One screw and pull it out <--- That sounds incredibly dirty DAMMIT ITS FIVE AM). The next step is to remove the switch cover, the spot above the keyboard, but before the lid hinges (This is where the speakers are on most laptops, and - duh - the power switch). This has screws you have to remove on the underside of the computer, then you are supposed to just pull it off (Carefully). I got one side fine... But the other is stuck. Can't pull it off. Normally there's a switch, but not that I can find.

-_- So I spent a long, long time trying to get a stupid cover off, and failed. Expedition was wiped out after being killed by hippos or something.

Of course, since the issue is that I have to replace my entire heat sink assembly (The fan and the stuff that runs it), I have to remove the cover, detatch the monitor, remove the main USB hub, the network card, the audio drive, and then, the motherboard =_= JUST TO GET TO IT.

So its tedious and dangerous to the compy, but I don't have 100 dollars to spare after the car accident (Or in general).

This was a very random journal. Guess who's tired?
